"Reflection A History Of McNairy County, Tennessee 1823-1996 The Family of Evan Otis Siegfried Crowe & Fannie Dee Pettigrew Crowe" reads: "Gaberial Siegfried Crowe was the youngest son of the General of Norway, Sir John Crowe. Since the major portion of any estate as well as all the titles passed from father to eldest son, Gabriel Crowe migrated to the United States and settled first in the vicinity of Adamsville, McNairy County, Tennessee. He married Sarah Ann Mills. Their son was Evan Otis Siegfried Crowe, born February 17, 1880. Evan was a farmer, business man, banker, member of the McNairy Board of Education, member of the Sunday School Board, and Elder of First Presbyterian Church of Adamsville. On January 3, 1901 Evan Crowe married Fannie Dee Pettigrew, born December 15, 1877, daughter of Hazywood Albert Pettigrew and Lee Ann Jeanette Gilchrist of the Gilchrist Community. Evan and Dee raised and educated three children all born in Gilchrist. Their children were Gilchrist Siegfried Crowe, Mattie Aurelia Crowe and Forrest Warren Crowe. The family later moved to Adamsville. Their Christian walk was exemplified by a verse framed and hung on the dining room wall: "All things work together for good to them that love God." Evan died November 17, 1953, and Dee died December 27, 1958. They are buried in Adamsville Cemetery.Their grandchildren still own the Crowe farm on the Old Shiloh Road in Adamsville."
