Peplinski Rites
Funeral services for Siegmund Peplinski, 83, Village of Galloway will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St Joseph's Catholic church, Galloway. Mr. Peplinski died Tuesday.
Officiating will be the Rev. Roman Papiernik. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Thursday at the Dzikoski Funeral Home. The St. Joseph's Society of which Mr. Peplinski was a member will join a general rosary at 8 o'clock.
Mr. Peplinski was born Nov. 22, 1888 in Germany, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Carl Peplinski. At age 23 he moved to Stevens Point and settled here.
On Feb 1, 1915 he and the former Laura Gostomski were married at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fancher. They settled in Stevens Point. From 1918 to 1947 they operated a farm in the Town of Franzen, Marathon County. They then retired and moved to their present home in Galloway.
Mr. Peplinski was past treasurer of St. Joseph's parish for 30 years.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Joseph, Milwaukee; three daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Bernice) Buchanan, Milwaukee and Mrs. John (Susie) Lukacevic, Pewaukee; 16 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and two sisters both in Berlin, Germany.
Mr. Peplinski was preceded in death by one son, Stanley, five brothers, and one sister.
