LAZARUS.—The sudden death is announced of Mr. Simeon L. Lazarus, of 6. Balfour Place, Mayfair, and of the firm of Lazarus Brothers, Drapers' Gardens. Mr. Lazarus, who was fifty-five years of age and was of a very amiable disposition, was a son of the late Mr. Ralph Lazarus, a well-known communal figure in the City, and was himself devoted to communal work. He was a very active member of the Board of Guardians and took keen interest in other institutions, to which he was a generous supporter. He was also noted for his private benefactions. Mr. Lazarus's connection with the Stock Exchange (says the Westminster Gazette) extended over a period of a quarter of a century, he having become a member in 1892. He was very well known and popular, and was for some years a member of the Committee, taking a keen interest in matters of reform.
