Simon Fabich, brother, sister & niece from Kokoschkon, Pomerania, Poland (now called Kokoszkowy) sailed into Wellington on 4 Aug 1876 on the Fritz Reuter. The German Consul in Wellington had to beg for assistance from the NZ government to feed and accomodate all the people. Unwillingly the NZ Minister for Immigration allowed some to use the immigration barracks and provided rations. - Sep 4 1876
