Born by about 1598 based on date of marriage. Came from Norwich, Norfolk to Massachusetts Bay in 1633 & settled in Roxbury. Died of Smallpox at sea while on his way to America from London in 1633 at sea.

Married St. Andrew's, Norwich, Norfolk, 11 May 1623 Margaret Barrett. She was admitted to Roxbury church as member #83: "Margret Huntington widdow; she came in the year 1633. Her husband died by the way of small pox; she brought children with her." She married (2) shortly after December 1634 THOMAS STOUGHTON of Dorchester (and later Windsor). They had five children: Christopher, Thomas, Ann, Simon, & Henry.

"...Simon Huntington married 6/21/1627 1633 passenger on "Elizabeth Bonadventure" died on journey, likely married Margaret Baret, June 21, 1627, though of this it is impossible to speak with certainty."

"Church records of Roxbury, Mass., contain the earliest record of the Huntington name known in New England. It is in the handwriting of Rev. John Eliot, the pastor of that ancient church who states "MARGARET HUNTINGTON, WIDOW, CAME IN 1633. HER HUSBAND DIED BY THE WAY OF THE SMALL POX. SHE BROUGHT ____ CHILDREN WITH HER." (the line means they cannot read the number of children)

The Supplement states, "St. Andrew's Parish Register, Norwich, England has the following entries. Simon Huntington and Margaret Barrett were married May 11, 1623. She was born September 29, 1595, daughter of Christopher and Elizabeth (Clarke) Barrett. CHILDREN: 1. Christopher, born July 25, 1624, baptised in St. Andrew's Parish. 2. Ann, born September 9, 1627, baptised in St. Simon and Jude's Parish. 3. Simon, born July 6, 1629, baptised in St. Simon and Jude's Parish."

THE DATES FOR THE MARRIAGE ARE DIFFERENT, dates from the Supplement as they are from Church records are likely more accurate since others are unknown.

2. Hannah Crane, b. about 1639., married Thomas Huntington, who was son of that Simon who died on the passage from England to Boston, in 1633. Thomas had two brothers, Simon and Christopher. Margaret, mother of Thomas, lived for a time in Roxbury. Mass. Married for 2d husband, Thos. Stoughton. of Dorchester, Mass., and removed to Windsor, Conn. Thomas Huntington was freeman in Connecticut, in 1657; settled in Branford, in 1663. and died after 1684. She married 2d, John Ward senior, of Branford, and was his 2d wife
