Simon Murpny II's specific burial site is not known, however, he was removed to his old home place near Assamosso Swamp in eastern Surry Co VA.

Simon & Sarah married Apr 27, 1752, probably in Virgina.

As the family story goes, during the Revolutionary War, in 1783, he left Union Co SC, crossing into North Carolina, at some point, he was stopped by Tories, they suspected he was a patriot, and executed on the spot, one of the Tories knew Simon, and where his old home place was in VA, and removed his body to his old property near Assamosso Swamp in eastern Surry Co VA, where he was buried. It was said, Simon was on his way to Surry Co VA to handle estate problems, wether he as in service with the Patriots, is not known by this writer, however, his wife Sarah Murphy, did serve as a patriot and was paid accordingly after the war, so in all probability, Simon was also in service.

Simon was the son of Simon Murphy I and Elizabeth [Byrd-Bird] Murphy, they died in Surry Co VA.
