Sindy Vanderford

This is the story told to Laura J Vanderford by her father, Wallace A. Vanderford, Walters son. Walter went to Lynn, Winston Co AL from Hokes Bluff, Etowah Co Al as a young man of 15 years old. There he met and married Sindy Jane Barton. Sindy was Buele Bartons sister. Walter and Sindy had there first child Florence E Vanderford when Walter was 18 years old. Savila was born when Walter was 19 years old. Dennis was born when Walter was 22 years old. On 27 July 1899 when Walter was 26 years old and Sindy Jane was 29 years old, Sindy died leaving Walter with three small children to raise on his own.

While he worked, Buele’s family cared for the children. Buele’s daughter Liza Jane at 16 years old, helped with the children. Walter saw how well Liza cared for the children and realized how she would be an excellent mother and married Liza Jane. Walter and Liza were married at G.B Barton’s residence on 2 Sep 1900 by T. S.
