  • A few days later, Ivor Brownley, Jason Marais (25), Conrad Jacobs (31), and Darrel Fisher were arrested and charged with two counts of murder, robbery with aggravated circumstances and the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.

  • Marais and Jacobs entered into a plea agreement with the State and agreed to testify against Brownley and Fisher. Marais pleaded guilty to all charges, while Jacobs admitted to only robbery with aggravating circumstances.
  • Ivor Brownley (24), and Darrel Fischer (24), were found guilty of two counts of murder and hijacking appeared for sentencing at the Vereeniging High court.
  • Vanessa Waterson asked the court to “remove them from society forever”. She described her daughter, who was a Grade 11 pupil at Silver Oaks High School in Eldorado Park, as an “A student” whose dream was to become a chartered accountant. Catherine Geswent described her son Kevin, who had worked as a bank call centre agent, as a “very good child”.
