About Sir Almeric le Boteler, 6th Baron Warrington

6th Baron Warrington

Spouses/Children: Alicia le Garnett Sir William le Boteler Knight, Lord of Warrington+ Sir Richard Boteler Knight, First Lord of Out Rawcliffe. Sir Almeric le Boteler 6th Baron Warrington

Born: Abt 1216, Warrington, Lancashire, England 730 Marriage: Alicia le Garnett 730 Died: Bef 14 Sep 1235, Warrington, Lancashire, England 730

Almeric was very young when he witnessed a deed with his father in 1226. In 1233, at the time he was called upon to pay his relief upon the death of his father, he was likely still a minor. The entry recording this reads "Almeric Pincerna, son and heir of William Pincerna, made fint to the kind for his relief of six knight's fees which his father William held of the king, and paid thirty pounds, for which earl de Ferrars and Hugh dispenser became his sureties, whereupon the sherriff of Nottingham was commanded to give the said Almeric seisin of such of the said lands as William, Almeric's father was seized of on the day of his death, and as were then in the said sheriff's bailiwick. Dated at Hereford 20 Nov 122." [Rot. Finium, p. 251, Pipe Rolls, 18 Henry III, and Thorton's His. Notts, vol. i. p. 192]

During his father's life time, he had married Alina or Alicia, most likely the duaghter of William Garnet. She survied Almeric and later married Walter de Stanton. [Testa de Nevil, p. 398] There is very little information found in the records about Almeric besides his father's deed which he witnessed in 1226 and the account for his father's death in 1233. He died sometime before 14 Sep 1235. Two of the children of Almeric and Alina were: • William, who succeeded his father. • Richard, a younger son who married Alicia Carleton, and held a fourth of a knight's fee of the honor of Lancaster at Galfi in Norfolk. [Testa de Nevil, pg. 290] Richard was the founder of the House of Bulter of Roucliff. ~The Annals of the Lords of Warrington, pgs. 54-61

Almeric married Alicia le Garnett daughter of William le Garnett and Unknown.730 (Alicia le Garnett was born about 1209 in Lancashire, England.)

Almaric de was born circa 1205 at Warrington, Lancashire, England. Or 1204 per info on soc.genealogy.medieval.1 (This place is likely an error. His son built Bewsey Hall. Therefore this man could not have been born there. Possibly there was another place called Bewsey that has mistakenly been referred to as Bewsey Hall.)
