His wife is unknown; she was not a known child of Richard Fitzalan, 3rd Earl of Arundel, 8th Earl of Surrey & Eleanor of Lancaster, Countess of Arundel and Warenne

"From Newcastle-on-Tyne, he settled in London and became a wealthy merchant. He was created a Knight of the Bath at the coronation of Richard II in 1377, for having lent a 'large sum of money to the King, and had been generous enough to cancel the bond'. Sir Anthony Browne, who was made a Knight of the Bath at the Coronation of King Richard II, 1377, left two sons, the younger of whom, Sir Stephen Browne, Lord Mayor of London, in 1439 imported during his mayoralty large cargoes of rye from Prussia, in consequence of the scarcity of wheat, and distributed them amongst the poorer classes of the people."

Elizabeth, daughter of Sir William Pason, and widow of Richard Lord Poynings, and was s. by his son,
