Sir George Duckett, Baronet [1791], of Hartham House aforesaid, formerly, 1777-1797, George Jackson, only surv. s. and h., by 2d wife, b. 17 July 1777, in Old Palace Yard, "Westm. He, when of age, joined with his father in barring the entail of the Duckett estates; was M.P. for Lymington, 1807-12, and for Plympton, Oct. to Dec. 1812; F.R.S., 1808; F.S.A. ; sometime Lieut.-Col. of the West Essex Militia; suc. to the Baronetcy, 15 Dec. 1822 ; and was gazetted a bankrupt, March 1832. He m. firstly, 17 July 1810, Isabella, yr. da. and coheir of Stainbank Floyd, of Shrewsbury, and of Barnard's Castle, co. Durham,( — ) by Anne, da. of ( — ) Lecky, of that county. She d. 10 (Oct. 1844, aged 64. He m. secondly, 30 April 1846, at St. Pancras, Midx., Charlotte, widow of Joseph Laxe, da. of Edmund Seymour, of Innholmes, Berks, and of Crowood Park, Wilts. He d. 15 June 1856, aged 78, in Gloucester gardens, Hyde Park, and was bur. at Kensal Green. Admon. Aug. 1857. His widow, by whom he had no issue d. in Gloucester Gardens aforesaid, 18 Nov. 1862, aged 76.
