Sir George Gordon of Abergeldie, Kt.

George Gordon was born about 1475 son to Sir Alexander Gordon of Midmar and his spouse Beatrice Hay.

On his father's death in 1504 he inherited the title of Midmar. By Royal charter on 27 Feb 1506/07 George and his wife Margaret Stewart were granted the lands of Abergeldie.[1]

In 1528 he gained indisputable possession of the lands of Abergeldie. [2]

George married Margaret Stewart, daughter of the Earl of Buchan.

They had issue:

1. Alexander d,s,p.
2. Robert d.s.p
3. James b. 1502 his heir [3]
4. John Gordon of Coull
5. Katherine who mar. James Ogilvy of Clova

George died about 1520 and the title passed to his son James.
