Biographical Summary

"Sir George Steuart Mackenzie, Baronet [S. 1673], of Coul, only s. and h., b. 22 June 1780 ; suc. to the Baronetcy in 1796 ; was Ensign General in the Royal Scottish Archers ; F.R.S. and Vice-President of the Royal Society of Edinburgh. He m. firstly, 8 June 1802, Mary, 5th da. of Donald Macleod, of Geanies, co. Ross. She d. 18 Jan. 1835. He m. secondly, 27 Oct. 1836, Catharine, widow of John Street, Capt. R.A., 2d da. of Sir Henry Jardine, of Harwood, aged 68. He d. Oct. 1848. His widow d. 2 Aug. 1857."
