Notes

Sir Thomas West, 8th Baron De La Warr and 5th Baron West KB KG succeeded to his titles at the age of 19. He had an active military career under both Henry VII and Henry VIII, and was multiply honored as a result. He married three times and fathered ten children, including his heir, Thomas, and Sir Owen West, among whose heirs the Barony of West remains abeyant to this day. He is buried in Broadwater Church in Broadwater Sussex England.

Knight of Warbleton, Sussex, younger son by his father's 2nd marriage.

Son of Sir Thomas West, Lord la Warre, and Elizabeth Mortimer. Grandson of Sir Richard West and Katherine Hungerford, descendant of King Henry III. Grandson of Hugh Mortimer and Eleanor of Cornwall, daughter of John Cornwall.

Husband of Elizabeth Morton, eldest daughter of Sir Robert Morton of Whitehouse, Esquire to King Henry VIII by Jane Warham, daughter of Sir Nicholas.

They produced two sons and one daughter; Sir William, Sir Thomas and Margaret, wife of Thomas Arundel.

His widow married Ralph Rosier, both were alive in 1568.
