Sir Henry Gibbs

Biography

Henry Gibbs was the son of Sir Ralph Gibbs or Gibbes and his wife Gertrude Wroughton.[1][2] He was baptised at Honington, Warwickshire 14 March 1593/4.[3]

He married Elizabeth Temple on 30 January 1611/12 at Honington, Warwickshire. The parish register states[4]

To this union 7 children were born:

• Easter GIBBS b: C 1614 in Honington, Warwickshire, England
• Henry GIBBS b: ? in Honington,Warwickshire,England
• Ralph GIBBS b: C 1616 in Honington,Warwickshire,England
• Martha GIBBS b: C 1618 in Honington,Warwickshire,England
• Thomas GIBBS b: ? in Honington, Warwickshire, England. Thomas, heir to Honington Manor, sold the Estates to Sir Henry Parker. This was the first time the Honington Estates belonged to someone other than a member of the Gibbs family.
• John GIBBS b: CAL 1627 in Halford, Warwickshire, England - possibly the only one of the siblings who had children
• Robert GIBBS b: 1634 in Honington, Warwickshire, England

Sir Henry Gibbs was buryed the 25 day of February.

Henry inherited the manor of Honington, Warwickshire on his father's death
