"Sir James John Randoll Mackenzie, Baronet [S. 1703], of Scatwell, only s. and h., b. 20 June 1814 at Rosehaugh house aforesaid ; ed. at Westm. School and at Trin. Coll., Cambridge ; suc. to the Baronetcy, 8 March 1843 ; alienated, soon after 1849, the estates of the family ; Captain 3d Ross-shire rifle volunteers, 1860. He m. firstly, 10 Oct. 1838, in the chapel at Wentworth house, Yorkshire, Anne, 5th da. of Charles William (Wentworth-Fitzwilliam), 3d Earl Fitzwilliam op Norborough, by Mary, da. of Thomas (Dundas), 1st Baron Dundas of Aske. She, who was b. 14 May 1819, d. 29 April 1879, at Cannes, in France. He m. secondly, 5 Aug. 1879, Mary Anne. 1st da. of James MacNeill, of Toxteth park, co. Lancaster. He d. s.p., 8 Feb. 1884, at Versailles, near Paris, in his 70th year. His widow living 1904."
