"Sir James Ramsay, Baronet [s. 1666], of Bamff, 1st s. and h., 6. 26 Sep. 1797, at Edinburgh ; suc. to the Baronetcy, 17 Feb. 1807 ; matric. at Oxford (Ch. Ch.), 30 May 1816, aged 18; 2d class Classics, 1819. He in. 9 Feb. 1828, Jane, da. and h. of John Hope Oliphant, sometime first member of the Council in Prince of Wales' Island, by Jean, 2d da. of Sir John Wedderbctrn, 6th Baronet [S. 1704]. She d. 2 June 1842. He d. s.p., 1 Jan. 1859, aged 61."
