Gentleman of the Bedchamber
Sir James Stewart of Eday and Tullos was a gentleman of the bedchamber and received a pension from his father's lands in Holyrood, Edinburgh. He married Dame Margaret Lyon, daughter of Thomas, Master of Glamis. The Scots Peerage VI: 573

7 June 1653: Disposition by Colonel John Stewart, second son of deceased Sir James Stewart of Ethay, knight, in favour of Captain Robert Stewart, his brother, eldest son of said deceased Sir James, of the 4½d. udal land in Howbuster, under his house of Corsquoy, in island of Sanday, disponed to him by Edward Cok, merchant in Kirkwall, and disponed to said Edward Cok by John Beg, eldest son and heir of deceased James Beg of Corsquoy, in the island of Sanday, and by Magnus Beg, only son and heir of deceased William Beg of Mussetter, in the island of Schapinscha.
