About Sir John Andrews, Kt.
SIR JOHN ANDREWS
"Sir John Andrews, of Winwick, Knt. who, by the daughter of Sir John Norton, had issue, Sir Thomas Andrews, of Winwick, Knt."
"The Baronetage of England: Or The History of the English Baronets" / William Betham, 1801
Commentary: Sir John Andrews died at the relatively early age of thirty in 1138. Sir John's early death is concurrent with the early fighting in "The Anarchy" (1135 - 1153), the sucession struggle between Stephen of Blois and Matilda / Maude following the death of King Henry I in 1135. Whether Sir John Andrews was a partisan of King Stephen or Queen Maude is subject to further research.
