Biographical Summary
"Sir John Archibald Stewart, eighteenth of Grandtully, sixth baronet. Born at Murthly, 25th October 1794. On the death of his mother, in 1833, Sir John Stuart succeeded to the estate of Logiealmond, and assumed the name and arms of Drummond. Married, 25th January 1832, Lady Jane Stewart, eldest daughter of Francis Earl of Moray, but died s.p., at Paris, 20th May 1838, and was buride at Murthly. Lady Jane survives him, and married, secondly, Lonsdale Pounden, M.D."

"Sir John Archibald Drummond-Stewart, Baronet [S. 1683], of Grandtully, Murtly, and Logie Almond, 1st s. and h., b. 26 Oct. 1794 ; suc. to the estate of Logie Almond on his mother's death in 1823, and took the name of Drummond before that of Stewart ; suc. to the Baronetcy and his paternal estates, 9 Dec. 1827. He m. 25 Jan. 1832, Jane, 1st da. of Francis (Stuart), Earl of Moray [S.], by his 2d wife, Margaret Jane, da. of Sir Philip Ainslie. He d. s.p. at Paris, 20 May 1838, aged 43. Will pr. Dec. 1838. His widow m. 25 Aug. 1838 (four months after his death), Jeremiah Lonsdale Pounden, of Brownswood, co. Wexford (who d. 3 March 1887) and d. 14 March 1880, at St. Leonard's-on-Sea."
