Proof of age for John Arundell

He is the son and heir of John Arundell of Bideford, esquire and Margaret his wife, and the kin and heir of this John’s father, John Arundell, knight.

The jurors, separately examined, swear that he was born at Bideford and baptized in the church there on 9 June 1421, and is aged 21 and more.

A contract for the marriage of Sir John Arundel, Under-Sheriff, Sheriff, & Vice-Admiral of Cornwall and Elizabeth Morley was signed on 25 April 1446.

They had 1 daughter (Anne, wife of Sir James Tyrrell).

A settlement for the marriage Sir John Arundel, Under-Sheriff, Sheriff, & Vice-Admiral of Cornwall and Katherine Chideocke was made on 5 March 1451; They had 1 son (Sir Thomas) and 6 daughters (Elizabeth, wife of Sir Giles, Lord Daubeney; Katherine, wife of Sir Walter Courtenay, & of John Moyle, Esq; Ellen, wife of Ralph Coppleston; Margaret, wife of Sir William Capel; Thomasine, wife of Sir Henry, 1st Lord Marney; & Dorothy, wife of Sir Henry Strangeways).

Sir John Arundel, Under-Sheriff, Sheriff, & Vice-Admiral of Cornwall died on 12 November 1473 at age 52.
