Sir John Barrington, 4th Bt. was born on 16 October 1670.1 He was the son of Thomas Barrington and Lady Anne Rich.1 He died on 26 November 1691 at age 21 at St. Clement Danes Church, The Strand, London, England, from smallpox, unmarried.1 He was buried at Hatfield Broadoak, Essex, England.1 He died intestate and his estate was administered on 18 December 1691, and again 16 November 1693.1
Sir John Barrington, 4th Bt. succeeded to the title of 4th Baronet Barrington, of Barrington Hall [in Hatfield Broadoak], co. Essex [E., 1611] on 24 March 1682/83.1
