Sir John Blackwood, 2nd Baronet

Sir John Blackwood, 2nd Bt. was born in 1722.

He and Dorcas Stevenson, Baroness Dufferin and Clandeboye obtained a marriage license on 22 May 1751.

He died on 27 February 1799.

His will was probated in 1799.

He was the son of Sir Robert Blackwood, 1st Bt. and Joyce Leeson.

He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Killyleagh [Ireland] between 1761 and 1768.

He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Bangor [Ireland] between 1769 and 1776.

He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet Blackwood, of Ballyleidy, co. Down [I., 1763] in 1774.

He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Bangor [Ireland] between 1776 and 1790.

He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Bangor [Ireland] between 1790 and 1797.

His last will was dated 24 July 1792.

He opposed the Union of British and Irish Parliaments.
