About Sir John Chichester
Sir John Chichester, Knt., married the daughter of John, Lord Raleigh, by which the Chichesters became one of the most important families in northern Devonshire. He was either of Treverbin in Cornwall, or he was of Donwer in Somerset.
Sir John assumed the arms of Raleigh in place of the old arms of Chichester.
He died before 1399.
