3. SIR JOHN FITZ3 ROGER (JOHN2 FITZROGER, AARON1) was born 1386, and died October 04, 1441 in at his home at Bryanstone. He married AGNES DE MERCAUNT 1406. She was born in Seamer, Suffolk Co.

Sir John Fitz Roger, was born 1386-7. He married Agnes de Mercaunt of Seamer, Suffolk Co. in 1406 when he was just past the age of 19. He was the manager of the vast Furneaux estates and bought 'Benham-Valence' and other properties in Berkshire and Dorset. He received a Knighthood through recognition of military service performed. He was one of the wealthiest people in his section of England. He and Agnes had two sons, John and Thomas. He died 4 Oct 1441 at his home at Bryanstone, and is buried at St. Martin's Church there. His will was dated 21 Sep and proved 10 Nov 1441 and it was at this time the 'Fitz' to the Roger name was dropped and ultimately a terminal 's' added.

It is believed that page 9, generation 3.: "Sir John Fitz Roger and Elizabeth Shuttlebroke" (Shottesbroke) is in error as the time period between generation 2 (Sir John Fitz Roger and Agnes Mordaunt) and generation 4 (Sir Henry Rogers and Annie Stornton) does not fit.

Gen.1 John Fitz Roger, born about 1335 England. Married1385/6 Elizabeth, born 1330, daughter of Sir Symon de Furneaux of Ashington, widow of Sir John Blount. She was a very wealthy heiress, sole heir of her father and of the 9th generation in direct line from Odo de Fornell born about 1040 in Normandy who came to England with the Conqueror.
