Sir John Gibson, 4th Baronet of Keirhill

Biographical Summary

"Sir John Gibson, Baronet [S. 1702], of Pentland, nephew and h. male, being s. and h. of John Gibson, of London, merchant, br. of the late Baronet, suc. to the Baronetcy, 15 April 1774, and was served, 25 Jan. 1775, heir of provision gen., and, 27 July following, heir male gen. of his uncle. He m. in or before 1775, Henrietta, da. of James Watson, of Sauchton, co. Edinburgh, by Helen, da. of Charles (Hope), 1st Earl of Hopetoun [S.]. He d. s.p.m. at Gogar, 29 March 1781. His widow, who was b. 20 Sep. 1739, d. 8 March 1803, aged 64."
