25 April 1507: Instrument of Resignation by Sir John Kennedy of Blairquhan Knight, in the hands of Sir David Kennedy Knight Fiar of Cassillis his superior, of the 12 and a half merk land of Giltree, Drumore, Dirock, Bernoil, Barganach and Mossland, with the Mill thereof, the 4 and a half merk land of Shanwin, 2 and a half merk land of Clonachie, 3 merk land of Meikle Shellach, 1 merk land of Knocklay, 2 merk land of Troscan, and 2 merk land of Clongill, all lying in the Lordship of Cassillis and Earldom of Carrick, for new infeftment thereof to be granted by the said Sir David Kennedy to John Kennedy son of the said Sir John Kennedy, and Margaret Campbell wife of the said John Kennedy, and their heirs male - reserving to the said Sir John Kennedy his liferent of the said lands, and a reasonable third part to Dame Margaret Campbell his wife, for her liferent only. 2 November 1515: Revocation by Dame Margaret Campbell relict and executrix of Sir John Kennedy of Blairquhan Knight (See GD25/1/171, GD25/1/197-GD25/1/198-GD25/1/199-GD25/1/206-GD25/1/207-GD25/1/208 GD25/1/209- et GD25/1/235) by which after due deliberation (her own as well as the interest and advantage of their children being considered) she solemnly revokes all deeds executed by her, during her husband's last illness, and specially a contract, by which she is bound along with Gavin Kennedy of Blairquhan, to uphold, sustain, and take care of the house and family of the said Sir John Kennedy, from his decease, until the feast of Pentecost then next, in all necessary costs and expenses, which Contract she declares was entered into without her knowledge or hearing, and she compelled to give her consent thereto, and besides both her husband and herself, were then in the power of the said Gavin Kennedy, having been taken and held in captivity by him.
