Sir John Meade, 1st Bt. was born in 1642 at Cork, County Cork, Ireland.[2] He was the son of Lt.-Col. William Meade and Elizabeth Travers.[2]

He married, firstly, Mary Coppinger, daughter of James Coppinger, in 1671.[3]

He married, secondly, Elizabeth Redman, daughter of Major Daniel Redman, on 14 June 1680.[3]

He married, thirdly, Hon. Elizabeth Butler, daughter of Pierce Butler, 2nd Viscount of Ikerrin and Eleanor Bryan, on 14 June 1688.[2]

He died on 12 January 1706/7.3

Career:

  • He was invested as a Knight in 1678.[3]
  • He held the office of Attorney-General [Ireland].[3] He held the office of Judge Palatinate of Tipperary.[3]
