"Sir John Atholl Bannatyne Murray-Macgregor, Baronet [1795], of Clangregor Castle, 1st s. and h., b. 20 Jan. 1810; suc. to the Baronetcy, 14 June 1841 ; President of the Virgin Islands, 1860. He m, 14 Nov. 1833, at Sr James', Westm., Mary Charlotte, 3d and yst. da. and coheir of Rear-Admiral Sir Thomas Masterman Hardy, Baronet (so cr. 1806), G.CB., Governor of Greenwich Hospital (d. 20 Sep. 1839), by Louisa Emily Anne, da. of Admiral the Hon. Sir George Cranfield Berkeley, G C.B., yr. s. of the 4th Earl of Berkeley. He d. 1 1 May 1851, aged 41. Will pr. Jan. 1854. His widow d. 29 April 1896, at Faraday House, Hampton Court, aged 83."
