John Murray of Fallahill married Margaret Hepburn According to the Scots Peerage: "There is in the Lyon Office a certificate of arms dated 1 May 1779, in which it is stated that Margaret Hepburne, wife of John Murray of Falahill, hereditary Sheriff of Selkirkshire, was daughter of Patrick, first Earl of Bothwell. The lady in question seems to have been previously married to John Cockburn, younger of Ormiston, who died in or before 1512". The Scots Peerage II: pp. 155-6
