John was born circa 1320 at the Manor of Rycote, Thame, Oxfordshire, England. He was the son of Fulk de Rycote III. John married Elizabeth Gernon, daughter of John Gernon II, in 1347 at the Manor of Rycote, Thame, Oxfordshire, England. The Manor of Rycote passed from John's father Fulk to him. It was to pass to his son John but he had died. His daughter Catherine became his sole heiress. John departed this life on Sunday, 25 April 1379 at the Manor of Rycote, Thame, Oxfordshire, England.
