About Sir John Sinclair of Mey, 6th Baronet
Biographical Summary
"Sir John Sinclair, Baronet [S 1631] of Mey and Canisbay, son and heir; succeeded to the Baronetcy 4 October 1760, and was, on 1 May 1765, served heir male of entail and provision general of his father in Mey, Canisbay, etc. He married Charlotte, 2nd daughter of the Hon. Eric Sutherland (who, but for his father's attainder, would have been 4th Lord Duffus [S]), by Elizabeth, 3rd daughter of Sir James Dunbar, 1st Baronet [S 1706] of Hempriggs. He died April 1774, at Barrogill Castle, co. Caithness."
