(1) 1695, Mary (d.1705), da. and h. of Henry Mellish of Sanderstead, Surr., 1s. d.v.p. 3da.; (2) 29 Aug. 1706, Penelope, da. of Sir Robert Dashwood, 1st Bt., 3s. 6da. suc. fa. 1700.

Steward and bailiff of the hundreds of Ock and Moreton, Berks. 1706;1 comptroller of the Household 1713-14; P.C. 7 Apr. 1713.

Biography Descended from a court official, who purchased Radley in 1560,2 Stonhouse represented his county as a Tory for over thirty years, voting after 1715 against the Government in most recorded divisions, but being twice taken into custody by the serjeant at arms for defaulting in a call of the House.3 In 1721 his name was sent to the Pretender as a probable supporter in the event of a rising.4 He died 10 Oct. 1733.
