About Sir John Vans of Barnbarroch
John Vans of Barnbarroch was the son of Patrick Vans of Barnbarroch and Margaret Kennedy.1 He married Janet McCulloch, daughter of Sir Simon McCulloch of Myrtoun.1 He died on 10 September 1547 at Pinkie, Scotland, killed in action.1
He fought in the Battle of Pinkie on 10 September 1547.1
