Sir John Wright, of Wrightbridge, Essex was granted a peerage June 20th, 1590(?). He married ------Linsell(?), and died in 1624. He had three children by the firest marriage, and four by the second marriage to the daughter of Bennett Greene(?). The line of descent for the Allen family was through the eldest son, Nathaniel, by the second marriage. --Clark F. Allen

BIOGRAPHY: From his grandfather inherited a tenement called Argents. He inherited Ropers from his father, but did not live at Brook Hall. He was involved in his father's tanning business and also Warden of the Brentwood School. Resided in Brook Street hamlet in the house Le Spytle, which suited him better in his capacity as Warden for the Brentwood School and his trade as a Tanner.

DEATH: Curtis Wright has death in 1640.
