About Sir Laurence Mercer, Kt.
5th of Meikleour, witness to a charter by Walter Ogilvy of Oures, with consent of Laurence, Lord Oliphant, his nephew, of the lands of Gallantoune and Newton, in the Barony of Oures, in favour of Gilbert de Hay of Ury, on 16 January, 1475, and m. to Isabella, daughter of Henry Wardlaw of Torrie, to whom he granted a charter for the lands of Easter and Wester Aldy, Powmill, with the mill thereof, Dunbarny and Pitcathlie, Tulebaglis and Lednoch all in the Barony of Meikleour for the remainder of her life on 14 July, 1475, and in which she is styled as daughter of the deceased Henry Wardlaw of Torrie (she m. secondly in 1504 to Patrick Mercer, 2nd of Inchbraikie)
