Temple, called 1700. m. 19 Feb. 1717, Mary, da. and coh. of Sir Ralph Assheton, 2nd Bt., M.P. Clitheroe, of Middleton and Whalley, nr. Clitheroe, Lancs., 2s. 2da. suc. bro. as 4th Bt. 6 Aug. 1727...

Inscription: This Monument was Erected in Honour of the Memory Of Sr. Nathaniel Curzon Bar.’ and Dame Sarah Curzon his Wife (daughter of William Penn Esq. of Penn in Buckingham-fhire) Whofe Remains lye in this Church. Their Hearts were united by the ftrongest Tyes of Friendfhip and eminently difstinguifhed in Piety towards God and Charity to Mankind. Their Death all virtueous Minds lament in whom while living ?? ?? beheld Minds only Great and Cliffion: The Orphan left a fupport, the Poor their relief, the Rich their comfort, this Place its grateft arranged, Religion her brighteft Example Their Memory fhall never be forgotten nor our Affections l???? for fo Sincere Friends. Who were both Univerfally Charitable, Hofpitable, Generous, and Beneficent to all Mankind. And juftly merited the higheft Efteem; The beft and moft Affectionate of Parents: __They had five Sons and four Daughters They refigned their Souls into the moft mercyful hands of Almighty God. In full Truft and Confidence of the allfuffrient Merits of our bluffed Saviour and Redeemer Jefus Chrift Sr. Nathaniel Curzon Bar’n on the fourth day of March 1716. Dame Sarah Curzon his wife on the fourth day of January 1727. This Monument was put up with a Grateful Memory by their youngeft Daughter In the Year of our Lord 1737.
