In 1365 he obtained a royal license to enclose a park at his family estate of Chalgrave, where he retired to. He had been a benefactor to the Priory Church of Dunstable where he was buried. All Saints Church at Chalgrave contains a monument to him. The Church has medieval paintings on its walls.
