SIR PATRICK BLACKADDER OF TULLIALLAN

Sir Patrick Blackadder of Tuliallan, here treated, married Elizabeth Edmonstone, with whose consent, on 25 February 1485, she exchanged her half share of the barony of Boyne in Aberdeenshire for her sisters share of the barony of Tulliallan in Perthshire. 3 June 1484: Instrument of Resignation by Janet, Lady of Edmoundstoune in favour of Elizabeth and Margaret Edmoundstoune, her daughters, of lands of Tullealloun and the thanedom of Boyne. 25 February 1485: Charter by which Elizabeth Edmonstone of Tulliallan confirms that she has exchanged her half share of the thanedome of Boyne, together with her half share of an annualrent of six merks, for her sister Margaret Edmonstone's half share of the lands of Tulliallan. Elizabeth is identified as one of the heirs of the deceased James Edmonstone of that Ilk and Ednam. She made the exchange with the consent of her husband Patrick Blackadder, Her charter was confirmed under the Great Seal of Scotland on 3 March 1485-86. RMS 1424-1513: charter number 1644

6 March 1488-89: Letters of confirmation under the privy seal of King James IV whereby notwithstanding the general revocation of all infeftments, remissions, gifts of lands etc passed since candlemas 1487-8 made by him on his coronation at the Abbey of Scone, he ratifies, approves and confirms the resignation made by John Ramsay of Kylgoyr [Kilgour], procurator to Elizabeth Edmonston, spouse of Patrick Blacadyr [Blackadder] of the lands of Tulleallone [Tulliallan] with the donation and patronage of the kirk of the same in the sheriffdom of Peyrt [Perth] and stewartry of Strachteryne [Strathearn] into the hands of the King his father and the gift thereof thereupon made to John of Blacadyr son to the said Patrick and Elizabeth and his heirs. 28 September 1494 and 12 October 1494: Instrument on proclamation of banns of marriage between Patrick Blacader of Tuliallan and Lady Elizabeth Edmundstone. Proclamations made by Mr. John Scot, vicar, and Sir Andrew Browstar, chaplain, in lower church of Glasgow, and instrument requested by Mr. Robert Blacader, canon of the cathedral church of Aberdeen, as procurator for said Patrick and Elizabeth, from John Thornton, notary. Witnesses: Robert Smyth, Thomas Hoige, John Hongofeld, Martin Rankyne, George Ramsae and William Cragane, burgesses of Glasgow. Dates are 28 Sep, 5 and 12 Oct 1494.
