Inquisition Post Mortem for Philip de Aylesbury, Writ, 20 August, 23 Edward III [1349].
Mentions Philip and Margaret his wife, Thomas their son who died in the lifetime of Philip. Philip died on 14 July [1349]. John son of Thomas, aged 13 years and more, was Philip’s heir.

Parties: John de Saleford', chaplain, querent, and Philip de Aylesbury and Margaret, his wife, deforciants.
Property: The manor of Middelton' Kaynes.
Action: Plea of covenant.
Agreement: Philip and Margaret have acknowledged the manor to be the right of John, as that which he has of their gift.
For this: John has granted to Philip and Margaret the manor and has rendered it to them in the court, to hold to Philip and Margaret, of the lord king and his heirs for the lives of Philip and Margaret. And after the decease of Philip and Margaret the manor shall remain to Thomas, son of the same Philip, and his heirs, to hold of the lord king and his heirs for ever.
Note: This agreement was made by the command of the lord king.
