About Sir Richard Hylton (Musgrave), 5th Baronet of Hayton
Biographical Summary
"Sir Richard Musgrave, afterwards, 1746-55, </strong>Hylton, of Hlyton Castle</strong>, 1st son and heir, baptized at Aspatria, 13 October 1724; succeeded to the Baronetcy, 5 October 1739; matriculated at Oxford (Oriel Coll.), 16 February 1742/3, aged 18. In compliance with the will of his maternal uncle, John Hylton (who died 25 September 1746, aged 47), he, in 1746, took the name Hylton in lieu of that of Musgrave, on inheriting Hylton Castle and the other estates of that family. He married 17 November 1746, at Chester-le-Street, Eleanor, daughter and coheir of John Hedworth, of that place, being only child of his 1st wife, Susanne Sophia, daughter of William Pelsany, of London. He died intestate and s.p.m.s. 16 and was buried 24 June 1755, at St Martin's in the Fields. His widow died 1 and was buried there 5 June 1764."
