About Sir Richard de Lathom
From Miscellanea Palatina:
Richard Fitz-Robert de Lathom, son and heir of Robert Fitz-Henry, was a witness to the foundation charter of Lythom Priory (1189-99), and had succeeded to his father in 1301, when he gave ten marks and two palfreys to the king, as Lord of West Derby, for his relief.'^ He was one of the knights who held the great Inquisition for Lancashire in 1210, cited above, and died in or shortly before 1221, leaving issue Pachard, and Robert. His widow Alice,' is mentioned in the Testa de Neville,^ as having land worth xxs., and as having been disposed of in marriage by the king.
Richard de Latham, died 1220, held the manor of Dalton, and 1/4 of the manor of Wrightington.
