b. 1580, 2nd s. of Roger Townshend of Raynham by his 2nd w., and bro. of John. educ. New Coll. Oxf. 1593; G. Inn 1599. ?Kntd. 1603. He was probably dead by 1617, for he is not mentioned in the will of his mother, made in that year, nor in the settlements of her lands.
