About Sir Thomas Mallory, Kt.

Oldest son of Sir Anketil Mallory II and Alice de Driby. Probably born c. 1379-1380. Exactly whom he married is uncertain, but he had one daughter, Elizabeth (born c, 1400-1401 per Sir Thomas' mother's IPM of 17 Nov 1412 - and Sir Thomas himself was deceased by then), who married Robert Eure.

He did not have a daughter Ela who married a Thomas Greene, of Isham or anywhere else.

He was also not married to Margaret Grendon, who took as her second husband one of the several other Thomas Mallorys active between 1390-1420 (Thomas Mallory of Bramcote).

"She evidently married (1st) c.1388 to Richard son of Robert de Swillington. It that year her grandfather John Talbot made a settlement of lands, and she and her husband were included in the remainders [see first fine copied below]. My guess is that Joan was very young in 1388, at least 7, but more likely 12 or 13. Joan Talbot was still young enough to have 4 children by her 3rd marriage to Simon Leek, which marriage took place in 1405. My guess is that she was born c.1375."
