Sir William le Blount, 1st and last Lord Blount was the son of Sir Walter le Blount and Joan Sodington.1 He married Margery de Verdun, daughter of Sir Theobald de Verdun, 2nd Lord Verdun and Maud de Mortimer, before 20 February 1326/27.1 He died before 3 October 1337.1
Sir William le Blount, 1st and last Lord Blount was created 1st Lord Blount [England by writ] on 25 January 1329/30.1 He lived at Sodington, Worcestershire, England.1
On his death, his title become extinct.1

William BLOUNT (Sir Knight)
Born: ABT 1295, Sodington, Worcestershire, England
Died: BEF 3 Oct 1337
Notes: Heir to Sir Walter, Knight of Ockha (alias Rock) died without issue and left the Estate of Sodington property to his brother John. Had a command in Scotland in 1335. He m. Margaret, 3rd dau. and co-heir of Theobald De Verdon, Lord of Alton Castle, co. Stafford, lord justice of Ireland; and Maud De Mortimer. The lady was b. in 1310; there was no issue of the marriage, and Sir William dying, 11th Edward II. (anno 1337), seized of the castle of Weobly, in Herefordshire, Batterby, and lands in Fenton, Romesore, and Biddulph, Staffordshire, Sodington and Timberlake, in Worcestershire, as s. by his brother.
