He had a daughter, Martha, 1617 married James Palmer (knighted 1629)
He acquired Dorney Court in 1629.
Their son, Sir James 1585-1658 was the first of the Palmer's. He was a younger son of Sir Thomas Palmer, Bt of Wingham, Kent.
He was a Gentleman of the Bedchamber to James I & Charles I. He was the Chancellor of the Order of the Garter from 1645.
He was a personal friend of Charles II.
His younger son, Roger (married Barbara Villiers) was created Earl of Castlemain.
His elder son, Sir Philip, 1615-2683 inherited Dorney Court. The Palmer family still live there.
