A date and place of death has not been identified for Sir William Graham of Claverhouse. He was alive on 16 March 1638, when he acted himself as cautioner for James, Earl of Montrose, NRS: GD220/1/B/8/4/10 but he may have died before 30 June 1643, when his son and heir, Mr. George Graham of Claverhouse, performed a similar service for the Earl. NRS: GD220/1/B/7/5/10 He certainly died before 4 February 1645. NRS: GD220/1/B/8/4/10

2 April 1653: Disposition by Dame Magdalen Carnegie, Lady Claverhouse, tutrix testamentar nominate and confirmed to John Graham, now of Claverhouse, son and heir served to deceased William Graham of Claverhouse, his father, with advice and consent of James, Master of Rollo, David Graham of Fintry, George Graham of Inchbraikie, John Graham elder of Balgowan, David Graham of Gorthie and John Graham of Orchill, in favour of Sir Robert Graham of Morphie, his male heirs and assignees for relief of his debts, or due to him by the Marquess of Montrose, of certain parts of the estate disponed in GD220/1/B/5/4/2. 6-20 October 1656: Disposition by David Lord Lour, Walter Graham of Duntroon, Thomas Graham, brother german to the deceased William Graham of Claverhouse and John Fotheringham, son to the deceased Thomas Fotheringham of Denoon, tutors to John Graham of Claverhouse, son and heir to the deceased William Graham of Claverhouse with consent of James, Master of Rollo and the remaining creditors of the deceased Earl of Montrose, in favour of John Graham of Orchill, of the lands following, part of the lands belonging to the late Earl and disponed by the estates of parliament to the said William Graham for the benefit of the said Earl's creditors, as the just and equal division and proportion of the said Earl of Montrose's estate, set apart for John Graham of Orchill in complete payment of all debts due to him, containing an assignation to the whole clauses contained in the said disposition granted by the estates of parliament to the deceased William Graham of Claverhouse.
