Biographical Summary

"Sir William Keith Murray, Baronet [S. 1673], of Ochtertyre, 1st surv. s. and h., b. there 19 July 1801; assumed, apparently, the name of Keith before that of Murray in consequence of his marriage in 1833, and suc. to the Baronetcy, 1 June 1837; sometime Lieut. Col. of the Perthshire Militia, and subsequently (1860) of the 1st Batt. of the Perthshire Rifle Vols. He in. firstly, 28 Nov. 1833, Helen Margaret Oliphant, only da. and h. of Sir Alexander Keith, of Dunnottar, Knight Marischal of Scotland. She d. 28 Oct. 1852. He m. secondly, 8 July 1854, at Heckfield, Hants, Adelaide Augusta Lavinia, 4th da. of Francis (Rawdon-Hastings), 1st Marquess of Hastings, by Flora, suo jure Countess of Loudoun [S.]. She, who was b. 25 Feb. 1812, d. s.p. 6 Dec. 1860. He d. 16 Oct. 1861, at Ochtertyre, aged 60."
