Sir William Semple of Cathcart

Sir William Sempil of Cathcart who was served and retoured heir to his father Bryce, in December 1653. He had the honour of knighthood conferred upon him by King Charles II. And married Margaret, daughter of Sir James Hamilton of Broomhill, progenitor of lord Belhaven, by whom he had three sons and four daughters.[1],[2]
