About Solomon Boykin

Solomon enlisted in the Confederate Army April 15, 1863 in Mobile Al as a private in Company C, 38th Alabama Infantry, Holtzclaw's Brigade, which took an active part in the campaign of the Army of Tennessee from Chicamauga to Nashville. Solomon was wounded in the Battle of Chickamauga . He died in 1913 at the age of 78 in Bergamnt, AL and is buried at Camp Springs Cemetery, Choctaw County, Al.

I have a copy of Solomon's application for the relief of Confederate Soldiers and Sailors dated 1901 which gives his age as 66 and widow, Mary Jane's application for widow's pension dated April 21, 1915, which states she was born 9 December 1835 and was 80 years old in 1915..
